The Manufacturer Search

What a whirlwind February is turning out to be!

I started the year with a lot of confusion, essentially not sure what basket(s) to put my eggs so to speak. I was waiting on the pattern maker to finish making the patterns for what will become our launching line, and I wasn't sure exactly where I was going to go from there.

I had originally hoped to work with deadstock fabrics and create with independent sewers in the area. That involved a trip to Atlanta and finding sewers, at least to start. Not impossible feats, but the more I moved forward, the more doors seemed to close. The sewers were unavailable, the Atlanta trip wasn't working with ym family schedule, the list goes on.

One night I was up Googling, wondering leading to finding. I was happy to work with a factory, I just wanted to process to be seamless and I was afraid it wouldn't be. I reached out to a factory I found in Nashville. How perfect would it be if my manufacturing was done in my backyard!

I also reached out to some others I found or had been connected with. More doors opened. It was a simpler process than I thought. And I found some amazing partners along the way.

Finally, here we are in February. I have two manufacturers currently working on making the sample, the prototype of a garment, who can also do our first production run. I've also connected with two others who can produce knitwear for our winter drop - yay!

It's been a lot of emailing from the gym at 6am because one of the fabrics that I like comes from Denmark, and well, at my 6am it's business hours in Denmark.

It's been seeing pictures of what will soon hopefully be the Jean Dress, as it's taken months to go from dream to design to sample - and I cannot WAIT to have it in my hands.

It's been a lot of balancing my family obligations, my hobbies that light me up, establishing this brand, and working on a big move on the horizon for my family.

Overall, it's been absolutely beautiful to start to see some things come together. I am so excited to bring this brand to you, it is getting so close!
